"High Society" is another one of those Chaebols dramas. We have the daughter of Taejin Company, Jang Yoon Ha, who wants to be more than just her wealth and background, but falls in love with Choi Joon Ki, who thinks life should just be about power and money. We also have the arrogant and cocky chaebol Yoo Chang Soo, who falls in love with Lee Ji Yi, a poor girl with a big heart. And of course, we have the rich families who try to stop them from loving.

So here are my thoughts about the drama so far.
*Spoiler Alert
Let's see...where do I start. How about with...WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?! Like seriously they all got some issues.
Yoon Ha's parents are definitely THE worst parents ever. The mom treats all her daughters like dirt while her son remains on a pedestal. She only cares about the son taking over the company. And the sad thing is, she treats Yoon Ha like crap because of what a fortune teller told her. *face palm* Just because the fortune teller said that nothing will work out because of Yoon Ha, that does not mean that you can go around slapping her and blaming her for all of your problems. And so far the only thing the mom is good at is drinking and throwing tantrums. Yoon Ha's dad is just as bad. He uses everything and everyone as a business tool. If you are an advantage to the company, you're important. If not, you're nothing. And as you can tell from above, the dad always has the angry, "I'm constipated" kind of face.
Yoon Ha's two other sisters are just as ridiculous. The eldest sister has jealousy issues and thinks everything should belong to her because she's the oldest, not her brother. The second sister bullies Yoon Ha like their mom, and spends way too much energy on counting how many comments and likes she gets on her SNS.
With a family this bad, no wonder Yoon Ha decides to work part-time at a grocery store. But Yoon Ha is really complicated too. I mean she became a part-timer so that she could be independent, but at the same time when she gets in trouble at work, she makes her brother "take care" of it for her. I thought she didn't want her background? Also, she's nice, if you get on her good side, but once you start pushing her buttons, she'll strike back. Take Joon Ki for example. She completely changes from that smiling, "I love you so much" innocent girl to "I'm going to use my background to step all over you and make you pay" person in like one day. It's probably because of the way she grew up, so I guess I can't say it's her fault she's like that.
Yay! Now we have the humans of the drama. I'm glad there is at least one sane person in Jang household, Yoon Ha's older brother. He cares for Yoon Ha and actually TALKS to her, not yell or put her down like her other family members. But unfortunately, he goes missing after a yacht accident. I think he planned his "disappearance" or else he wouldn't have given Yoon Ha so many hints about the key or the password to his safe. Don't you think?
Joon Ki's mom is so sweet. She's caring, understanding, and just a wonderful wife and mother. Joon Ki's parents are the complete opposite of Yoon Ha's. They don't have much but just the fact that they are together makes them content and happy. Sometimes looking at her and her husband, I wonder how did Joon Ki get to be a gold digger?
I have mixed feelings about Yoo Chang Soo. He's good-looking and all, but I can't really stand how he looks down on others sometimes, even towards his supposedly good friend, Joon Ki. But he's really cute with Ji Yi. I'm really looking forward in seeing more character development for Chang Soo. (I'm waiting for him to have a heart that matches his beautiful face.) I mean growing up as a chaebol, he never really said sorry to anyone until he met Ji Yi. He's also willing to try the "germ-infested" street food with her. I always find it so cute how he has the "Fine, I'll do it just because of you," face whenever he's with Ji Yi. But the previews in the next episode are ruining my hopes for this couple! Please don't break up, please don't!!!!
And that concludes my drama thoughts on "High Society" so far.
Soon, I'll be writing my thoughts on "I Remember," which I'm just in love with. It's soooo good. You have to watch it. Like go watch it right now! You have a week before I write about, so you should have plenty of time. If you like "Criminal Minds," you'll definitely like it. I mean what's not to like about psychopaths, serial killers, and Seo In Guk? You can also find this drama on Viki.

Ahh...the gold digger Choi Joon Ki. Sure he looks cute and handsome, but under all the perfect model-ness, he's just pure evil, dating girls only if their family background is good enough for him. He pretends not to know that Yoon Ha is the daughter of Taejin Company and strategically gets close to her. He's always saying a lot of words of wisdom but I can never tell if he is saying it to make him look good or if he really believes in what he says. Anyway, in the process of conning Yoon Ha, he unknowingly falls in love with her. But of course, she finds out that he has been lying to her this entire time just when he does. The problem is he doesn't even try to win her back, and just tells her, "Yeah, I like you but 'Life is more important than love.'" Why do you make things so complicated???

My favorite character in the entire show! Lee Ji Yi! Yeah sure this girl didn't come from a "good" background. She may only have a high school diploma and has always worked part-time (in the drama they make it sound likes it bad, but seriously there's nothing bad about her background), but her heart is just amazing. Even when she didn't know about Yoon Ha's complete story, she still genuinely treated Yoon Ha as her best friend. She doesn't get mad without reason and she understands when she needs to trust and forgive. The best part is, she's straightforward with her feelings. And she just looks so cute with Yoo Chang Soo!!! I'm completely in love with this couple!
